Also known as allspice, pimento berries grow on an evergreen plant native to tropical rainforests. The name allspice refers to the fact that the spice tastes like a blend of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. Essential oils from the pimento berry is added to men fragrance “old spice”. Allspice or pimento should not be confused with mixed spice. This organic product is GMO free, and contains no preservatives or artificial flavours.

How to enjoy

Pimento powder can be used in both sweet or savoury dishes and drinks. Pimento can be added to savory stews, curries and soups for a subtle peppery depth. It can also be added to sweet dishes for some warmth such as gingerbread, granola, apple pie, oatmeal, carrot cake. Pimento is a spice also commonly used in pickling.
