It has long been used as a caffeine free substitute for coffee and has recently been gaining a lot of attention. Aside from providing flavour, chicory is an incredible source of dietary fiber, and an important prebiotic called inulin, which encourages the growth of healthy gut bacteria. It is often used to substitute flour or sugar in recipes. This organic product is GMO free, and contains no preservatives or artificial flavours.

How to enjoy

Chicory root powder can be added to smoothies, juices, or used to partially replace flour or sugar in baking recipes. Chicory coffee is gaining more attention as a caffeine free alternative - a cup of chicory coffee can be brewed the same was as coffee, using a French press or pot and strainer. You could even try a blend of both chicory and coffee! Add 2 tablespoons (11 grams) of ground chicory root for every 1 cup (240 ml) of water
