ORGANIC JASMINE RICE Sale
Jasmine rice is an aromatic long-grain rice with a high concentration of volatile compounds that give off a strong fragrance when the rice is cooked. Jasmine rice comes from Thailand, where it’s known as khao hom mali, “rice smell jasmine”. Oddly enough, the name comes from the rice’s white colour - not the scent, which has notes of popcorn and floral. Although less glutinous than other varieties of rice, upon cooking, the grains of rice cling together. It is excellent as a side dish to stir fries and stews. This organic product is GMO free, and contains no preservatives or artificial flavours.

To prepare, wash the rice until the water is mostly clear - about two to three times. Allow some time to drain. Place rice and along with 1.5 parts water in a pot and bring to boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook covered for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to sit covered for 10 mins before fluffing it with a spoon. It is an excellent side dish for all kinds of curries, stir fries, vegetables and stews. Its soft texture is not the best choice for fried rice.
