Steel cut oats can be used to make breakfast, or added to sweet or savoury bakes and dishes. They make a delightful, full-bodied hot or cold cereal with an appealing, chewy texture. To prepare overnight steel cut oats, mix 1 part oats to 2 parts liquid (try a mix of water and milk). Add any a sprinkle of salt and a 2 tablespoons of honey and allow to soak in the fridge overnight or up to 5 days. On the first day, the mixture will still be a little liquidy, so it is best to wait til the 2nd day. If you're short on time, you can prepare hot creamy steel cut oats - bring 1 part oats to 3 parts water/milk/liquid to the boil, cover the pot with a lid, allow to simmer for about 20 minute, stirring occasionally. Top with fruits, honey, granola, puffed grains, or nuts and enjoy!
